The Band Trip - Atlanta, Georgia

Okay, I’m just gonna start off with saying that it is Monday and I don’t know if I even feel like posting this so if it comes out really crappy then it’s just cause I’m not completely in the mood.

Day 1 - Waiting & Departing

Well the night before I had to pack and do homework and I just did not feel like doing either so I ended up just packing so that night I was just frustrated because I didn’t do any homework and I didn’t want to deal with school or this stupid trip so I woke up  still down and not wanting to go on the trip. As the day went on I was actually kinda getting in the mood to go, but let’s just say if it got canceled I would not have cared at all. Band starts and we are all ready to go but we still have class for the first hour or so of class then we get done and me and Allen go to the bathroom and come back where everybody is and we grab our stuff and Me, Leah, Allen, and Hester all stand around and say goodbye to Mcgowan cause she wasn’t going which in retrospect was the saddest thing about the trip. I reject Hester’s hug from Mcgowan at first and she totally threatens to cut me open and that’s when I first kinda realized that the sentence she just said had been the most words she’d said to me all year total since August. We all sit around and mess with my cushy pillow and all of a sudden Brannon Harper walks through the band hall and I’m just like “Um. Guys, was that Brannon Harper?” and they all freaked cause the last time anybody saw him was when he raped KK so we were like wtf and we joked around about how he used to touch me and how I’m emotionally scarred and eventually we got on the buses to go. We were on the nice fancy Cline Tour buses that are two long rows going down the bus with two seats in each row so it was Hester and Leah in front of me and Allen, then Rachel and Joven behind us and Maggie and Shanterell were beside Leah and Hester. It was pretty funny at first cause we were all just talking but we eventually all got bored and started listening to music and sleeping up until we got ahold of the remote which is when we started watching Swamp People then Rex put in The Office and it was amazing, it was Allen’s first time to watch it and he found it hilarious. We drove and drove until we eventually got to Birmingham where we stopped at the mall to eat. We had only 1 hour.

Day 1 - The Mall & So Forth

We have to stay in groups of 4 at the mall so my group was Leah, Hester, Allen, and Me. We walked inside to the food court and joked about how we needed to go to Victoria’s Secret but we eventually got to the food court and couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat until we just settled for Mcalister’s. We got our food and sat together and blah blah got done and started walking around. We first went to CCS and tried getting Allen to like skater clothes. We all tried on stuff and it was fun but we left and went down to Hollister where we just walked around cause we only liked the smell and came out and walked all the way down to Spencer’s. We walked in and went to the hats first but we all knew we weren’t there for hats. So I turn around and there’s Maggie and Shanterell standing towards the back so we’re like, “WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE?!?!” and went back to them and stayed their with some of the drumline guys until we couldn’t handle any more so we left and got back on the bus. Hester fell asleep so Leah got bored and started moving around and everyone was joking and watching Shawshank Redemption on AMC but they all got boring so I eventually fell asleep while listening to The Wonder  Years but they woke me up like every 10 minutes cause they wanted me to talk so I eventually cranked my music up all the way and the next time I woke up it was quiet and I felt someone right beside my face so I just all of a sudden shouted in their face, “GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY FACE!” it was Allen. Hester was still asleep when we got to the hotel but nobody wanted to wake her up cause Leah said she was like an evil bear when she wakes so we told Joven to do it so he walks up and grabs her but he accidentally grabs her ass cause he thought it was her head and we just bust out laughing cause after she wakes up she just goes, “I felt that, Joven.” bahaha awkward AF.

Day 1 - Coffee & Voicemails

So we get to the hotel and we all have rooms to go to so we get to our room and once we get their Danner turns on the coffee maker cause he was dehydrated and we couldn’t leave the rooms that late cause they would take the doors to the wall so that if the tape was broken they would know you left your room and you’d get in trouble. So we all drink coffee and joke around, ya know guy stuff. It’s all pretty explicit and gay so I’ll just keep all of that out of this story except a few things. We got bored so we all started calling people and I called almost every single person in my contacts and left them voicemails. We were like this until 4:30am where we all just died and fell asleep and woke up 3 hours later at 7:30 so we could start day 2.

Day 2 - Coke & Dogs

So the next day starts out pretty average. We wake up, take showers and get dressed then go to eat breakfast in the lobby. We get our stuff and we get on the bus and head to the Coke museum. Me, Leah, Allen, Joven, and Maggie joke around on the way there but Hester doesn’t say much but I’m chill cause I don’t want to rush our new found friendship or anything plus Joven has this plan to ask her out today at the Aquarium so I wasn’t trying to get in the way too much. We get to the coke factory and we walk out of the bus so me and Hester talk while we walk to this little statue where everyone is taking pictures so we all just took pictures with the guy who invented coke and went inside to start the boring tour. It was pretty cute and funny cause we had to watch this little movie and stuff but when we got out of that we had to go to this vault where only 30 people at a time were allowed so Me, Allen, Brianna, and Lakia all got separated from the group and had to do the rest of the Museum by ourselves until we go to the tasting part where we all met up and drank a million different coke products and took pictures. We went into the gift shop and laughed and joked at how expensive things were and I put on this little ugly coke vest and everyone laughed and I took it off and found out I just got done wearing a $500 ugly yellow and orange coke inflated vest. Leah came out about her whole love for little kids (yeah, she’s a pedo) so she was always shouting “KIDS!” and talked about hiding in the kids clothing section so she could talk to them. Allen bought a $15 necklace and Mackenzie and me held our first ever real hockey puck. We waited outside in the rain and got on the bus and went all the way to the complete opposite side of town (that part is important to the end of this chapter) to The Varsity where we ate lunch. Varsity was packed cause it’s one of the most popular restaurants in the world but we all waited in line and it was good but they like yelled at you cause you had to order fast. Me, Maggie, and Hes got separated from everyone else so we walked around and found them so we sat and ate and there was this fat kid in a black shirt with black hair and I was talking about how he looked like this kid I knew but everyone was yelling at me saying it was a chick and after like 5 minutes I was like I’m talking about the kid in black, not the chick behind him and Allen got POed cause he didn’t believe me so we got mad at each other so I left and went to go get me some Ice Cream and a little paper hat. We all got split up so me, Allen, and Leah went outside towards the buses where there was this little tree that had litter all around it so we took a picture of Allen passed out with a beer bottle in his lap and a pack of cigarettes in his hand which is now my Wallpaper on my phone. We got on the bus and Brittney was late but once she got on we headed to the Aquarium! Which, get this, was 10 feet from the Coke Museum.

Day 2 - Fish & Friendship

Okay, so we drove to the Aquarium and on the way there we were joking around all together blah blah. We got there and had to wait in a line to get inside but we got in the special way so we didn’t have to wait as long as most people. We got to the bottom of the stairs and Leah had gone off with Mackenzie, Sarah, and Mary Lauren so it was just Me, Allen, Hester, Maggie, and Shanterell. We go into this area and Hester is taking pictures of everything so it’s taking us a while to get through and Joven keeps texting me asking where we are cause this is where he is going to ask Hester out. We get out of the area we were in and I see the whale sharks so me and Hester run to them cause Whale sharks are amazing and we go through the tunnel where the fish are above you and it’s really pretty and nice but it takes forever cause we have to wait for Hes to take pictures and Joven is missing out on time. Blah blah fish and all of that. I keep leaving them cause there are soooo many people and I was getting too claustrophobic but the next thing we had to do was go to the Dolphin show so we get there and get good seats and we’re joking around and there’s this guy in front of us with like a roll of yarn as his hair so Maggie touches it and she gets snapped at by the man’s husband. Joven comes with his dad so they sit by us but Joven is two people away from Hes so no chances. The dolphin show was really cheesy but the dolphin part was freaking awesome, me and Joven fell in love with Dolphins and got high fives from the dolphin trainer chick. We went downstairs and Joven and Hes finally were able to walk and talk to each other so we left them to their machines while we went to pet Sharks. The sharks were scared as crap so it was like a mission to get to touch one so we got yelled at for shoving our hands down and grabbing them so we left to go pet star fish. Hester had this fear of touching them and Allen splashed her and Joven touched one and it came off the glass wall and just fell to the bottom and laid their upside down without moving so Joven killed a starfish and we moved on. We went to pet stingrays which felt like jelly and then me and Allen just bailed on Hester and Joven so they could have some fun and we went back to the sharks. We finally touched one but right when we touch them Joven and Hester are in this spot where you can touch like 7 of them so we go over there and touch like 20 of them and finally move on but without Allen cause he wanted to hang with his black friends. We went to this weird safari part where we got in a tunnel and took a picture and got Maggie to take a picture and one of the pictures had this demon fish in it where it’s eyes are like glowing yellow so yeah, that part was super boring. We went on to touch some Anemones, which felt like jelly. There were also like freaking 3 foot tall crabs and Beluga whales!! They were so cool, they would blow these little rings out of their mouths and then suck them back in and do it over and over. Joven’s dad called and he had to go meet him so it was just me, Hessy, Mags, and Shantaaaa so we walked around and took pictures. Me and Hessy talked the whole time, so hence forth where the Friendship part of this chapter comes from. We walk outside and meet up with Leah and everyone and Kechy does her little thing where she chokes Shanterell and goes “SHAN!!!!!! ……….taaaaaaaaaaa.” but we were outside so she did it the loudest she could and it was amazing. We took a picture with this dolphin statue and waited for the bus to come. We got on the bus and it was hilarious the whole ride cause Maggie was acting like she was killing herself and talking about World Of Warcraft and we recorded it and it was the best. Next destination was dinner, at the coolest mall on  Earth.

Day 2 - Tacos & The Office

We drove and drove to this mall which was really awesome! it had these stores outside the front of it before you actually got inside so we stopped by this store called The Rock Shop which had comics, Records, and T-shirts so we looked at some records and Jonathan got a Portugal. The Man record while Hester got her a t-shirt. We walked into the food court and we all got Taco Bell except freaking Allen who decided to be a hipster and get sushi. Maggie ordered her food in her nerdy World of Warcraft voice and it cracked us up! Hester had a bag so I asked what she got and was just like, “Oh, it’s a Dunder Mifflin shirt.” are you kidding me. JUST A DUNDER MIFFLIN SHIRT?! So I was like pumped to go back to The Rock Shop to get me my own Dunder Mifflin shirt so we ate and I was trying to get Britt’s attention so I was calling him from across the table, like “Britt……Britt….Hey, Britt!….Britt Faulkner. Hey, Britt Faulkner! Britt-Britt-Britt-Britt Faulkner, Hey Brit-Bri-Britt-Bri-Britt Faulk-Faulk-Faulk Faulkner.” and everybody found it amazingly hilarious how not only did I make a song up of his name but I also still didn’t get his attention. Me and Allen went to the bathroom and when we got back everyone was leaving so the girl’s went to do their shopping and we guys (Me, Allen, Danner, Britt) went back to the Rock Shop and got me my Dunder Mifflin shirt! Afterwards we went inside and walked around and went into Pacsun to try on a bunch of clothes so I tried on a wife beater and a bunch of other crap and so did Danner. We stopped at like 5 skater clothing stores and Allen does not like those clothes, so we just kept walking and we got bored so we started heading back to the bus. We met up with the chicks outside of this like Medieval store where me and Hester compared our Dundies shirts and Leah was so jealous. But we got on the bus and joked and stuff. Got back to the hotel, got some Monsters and Kechy dropped her cell phone down the elevator shaft and lost it and just joked in the bedroom and called people and blah blah fell asleep.

Day 3 - This is such an Important and long chapter, no clever title. just read.

So we wake up and I look at the clock and go, “OH SHIT!” which wakes everyone up cause it’s 8:39. We leave at 9 and all 4 of us have to take showers, get ready and dressed and leave in only 21 minutes. And there’s only one bathroom so, yeah. I was the first one in and I got done before anybody else. Allen didn’t want to wait on Danner to get out so he sat in the sink and washed himself with a rag. I wore my Dunder Mifflin shirt and we left. We met Leah and them in the hallway and I noticed Hes wasn’t wearing her shirt even though we were planning on being twinkies, but at the same time I wasn’t that upset cause we talked the night before and Danner and Allen said $20 that she would wear it and I said $20 that she wouldn’t so that was $40 right there. We got in the bus and headed towards Six Flags, Kechy got her phone back, but anyways it wasn’t til we pulled into the parking lot that reality hit me and I was about to ride rollercoasters all afternoon, when I’ve never ridden one in my whole life. Walking there I found out that Ana hadn’t ridden one either. So here’s a little back story on this new character that we’ve added to the story: I’ve known her since 7th grade. She used to hate me so much but now we’re cool and she is probably the most adorable chick in band. She’s Chilean so she’s Hispanic looking and could pass for my sister and she’s just so awkward and innocent, me and Leah are always talking about how cute she is! Anyways, we are walking through the park and Brianna is leading us because she has been there like a million times and knows EVERYTHING there is to know about Six Flags. We go to Goliath. For those of you who haven’t gone to a Six Flags, more specifically the one in Georgia, Goliath is the longest and tallest ride at the park. It’s first drop takes you up over 200ft and then you just power on fast from there. This was my very first rollercoaster ride ever and it didn’t set in until we were on the vertical slope going up the first drop that we were about to go down 200feet at 60 miles an hour. This is when we were like “oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit oh…” then downwards and it was the worst feeling I’d ever felt and I couldn’t breath or make any noise at all so I just closed my eyes and went through it. We got off and Ana was so excited and I was too, but I had my eyes closed so I needed them open on the next one. So we walked to the next one which started off with like a 50 feet high 90 degree angle drop which really sucked Cause you were for real like “oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck” but once we dropped my arms were up and my eyes were wide open and I was just screaming random profane words and screaming “OH TANK YOU!” cause that was me and Danner’s little inside joke. Before we got on that ride Joven and Hester talked the whole way up to it and so we had devised a new plan for him to ask her out on a rollercoaster just as it was about to drop. We got to the next one and it was Mindbender which was amazing cause it was super fast and really fun!! I loved it so much and it was just me and Allen on this one so we were talking and we peaked a drop and I was like “EMILY HESTER WILL YOU GO OUT WITH MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!” and Allen was screaming “YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!” as we were riding down it so I loved that one. We got off and went to The Batman, which was a long wait and we joked around the whole time and once we got up there the announcer lady was on the microphone but all you could hear was “awnoienoranvnenmraosuenraeyepyepokaysaywoohoookayletsgo.” and we all joked around imitating her and Ana did it and it was like the cutest thing ever!! She sounded so Hispanic especially the “okayyepsaywoohoookayletsgo” part. We got on the ride and once we peaked Leah was like “I’m gonna miss you guys so much.” then it just dropped and it was so freaking awesome but we got off and went to eat lunch. I found out yesterday that that ride decapitated a kid last year so that kinda freaked me out a lot. But we ate lunch and went to the bathrooms just me, Allen, Leah and Ana and we went to the Gift Shop afterwards for a little too long so that when we got back nobody was at the restaurant even though I told Hes that we’d be back. So Leah and Allen go to ride this wooden one and me and Ana wait for them with Danner and me and Her eventually get dragged into riding it with them so it got stuck the turn before we got on it so we had to stand and wait and Ana was freaking out cause she hates wooden ones and Drops so we talked to the people in front of us who were really nice and his daughter looked JUST like Alexa so It was fun then we got on after they fixed it and Allen sat with Ana and I sat with Leah. Once we peaked the first drop the first thing in my head was the scene from Final Destination so I instantly like freaked because all you had was this seat belt and that was it so you felt like you were about to fly out and it was JUST drops, nothing else so me and Ana hated it. We then went to The Superman which was one where you were practically laying flat as you rode it and it was our last one for the day, but It was the scariest looking one. The whole time we were walking up there me and Ana were freaking out and there was this guy in hot pink tight bootie shorts and just ugh! Once we got to the front I freaked out but we were joking and Ana was like “okayyepsaywoohoookaymybosstoldmenottopressthisredbuttonokaywhoopwhoopletsgo” and that cracked me up and made my whole trip so I lightened up and realized I had a little crush on Ana but once I got on the ride I panicked and dangled there looking down at the ground and not saying a word as I was stone cold about to die and then we just started going so I couldn’t do anything about it so I just held on and once we dropped first it really wasn’t that bad and I loved it and it was the best one of the whole trip and I was shouting OH TANK YOU! the whole time and It was amazing. This kid with A Two Door Cinema Club shirt was there so I was like “nice shirt, bro.” and we talked but we had to run because it was 4:27 and we were suppose to be meeting at the front of the park for the buses at 4:30. So we sprinted and when we got there Joven was like “Dude, I did it.” and I was like, “No way!!” But he was like “lol jk I didn’t but Hester is POed cause Leah left us and took you guys so she was just complaining about it the whole time.” She said she was getting tired of her and she didn’t wear her Dunder Mifflin shirt cause she didn’t want to match with me cause Leah would get jealous and wouldn’t shut up about it so that was a shocker but the bus ride back was quite cause they didn’t talk at all. Awkwardssss

Day 3 - Ties & Drunk Guys

So we headed back to the hotel so we could all get dressed in formal wear for the Orchestra Symphony. We were all in my room, Including Joven, listening to Rap and Dubstep music while getting dressed in pants and button ups and ties. Allen and Joven were ironing our clothes which was really cool and we all got dressed and looked like sexy beasts in our ties and we walked out in the hall and were totally swagged out and blasting Niggas In Paris as we walked and we met up with Leah, Hester, Maggie, And Shanterell and they all looked really nice! So we all walked down and got on the bus and talked and got there and me and Leah walked in together and we sat down in our seats and prepared for the most boring show ever. We couldn’t talk or do anything distracting or else the Ushers would kick us out so we had to sit through this boring freaking concert. Intermission came and we talked and joked and I was talking to Hester and Leah was lipping something like “Do you like her?” or something and she looked POed but I ignored it and went to the bathroom with Joven, Allen, and Mr. Cagle. When we were in there I asked Mr. Cagle if he felt like he was on a rollercoaster the whole time and this drunk guy was like “These kids are talkin bout rollercoaster!?!” and busted out laughing while he peed and drank alcohol at the urinal. We came back out and I told Hester, Maggie, and Shanterell the whole story while Allen talked to Leah. It started again so we had to be quiet but Maggie got snapped at cause after every little part of their show people stood up and clapped and Maggie didn’t so this chick was like “Um, did your band director tell you not to stand up?” so we joked about that for the rest of the night. Anyways, the last song ended and I was the first up out of everyone in the whole room so I felt pretty boss and Allen told me that Leah wasn’t asking if I liked Hester she was telling me that she was tired of her. When we got on the bus Leah didn’t sit by Hes, she just went to the back and so Trey sat with us and we joked and Laughed harder then we ever did on the whole trip so I’m pretty sure that hurt Leah a lot. It was hilarious and we stopped at a Gas station and got tons of food and me and Ana and Leah talked but whenever we got outside there was like this drug bust so we got in the bus real fast and watched. We saw nothing. We got back to the hotel and went to our bedrooms and just ate and chilled cause we couldn’t leave cause they taped our doors again. Anyways, we ate and joked and watched Comedy Central and had fun and talked about the chicks we liked and the weekend and went to sleep early and that was our last night.

Day 4 - Final Hours & Lesbianism

So we woke up and got dressed and packed and ate breakfast. Allen dropped a plate and it broke and that was the most eventful thing that morning. We got on the bus and nobody wanted to really talk but we still joked and Hester didn’t say like a word the whole trip. Me and her spent the first like 2 hours watching The Killing on AMC which is a not that bad of a show. Joven and everyone was talking about Lesbians and Lesbianism for the first 2 hours or so so that’s the title for you. Brendid tried to explain love to Joven but instead of using birds and bees he used Rocks and Streams which made no sense but he did say “Love makes you have these strong feelings, Joven…and these strong feelings make you hard.” so that was pretty much the funniest part of the whole trip right there. Um…I listened to music the whole time and almost sat with Hester the whole ride but Allen took my chances so that made me disappoint. But Ana was cute the whole ride and was going “we’re gonna have friessss and empanadas for dinner” and “okayyepsaywoohoookaymybosstoldmenottopressthisredbuttonokaywhoopwhoopletsgo” which was soo freaking cute We stopped at Ryan’s to eat lunch even though we were going to stop at the mall but it wasn’t open yet so that made us all upset cause I was going to blow all my money at pacsun. Me and Brianna were talking in line and we were going to act like she was my 11 year old sister cause she could so totally pass for it. We got inside and sat the whole gang down at our table and ate and we all joked around and me and Ana sat by each other so it was quite nice and we left our last tip which was like 10 bucks and like 7 dollars in change. We went to the bathroom and Mr. Kirk was in there joking around about Trey taking so long and giving birth to triplets so that was pretty funny. Got back on the bus and everyone started taking naps so I tried but didn’t succeed but I still listened to some great bands and got Allen to listen to The Wonder Years, Such Gold, and Balance & Composure and he hated it so yay! Allen is black, so all he listens to is rap for those who don’t know. We got home and I only said goodbye to Ana and Brianna sadly cause everyone left so fast:( But I got home and felt sad and lonely for the rest of the day. THE FREAKING END.
